Zendaya and Jacob Elordi

People didn't like the speed with which Jacob Elordi started dating Zendaya after his breakup with Joey King. In a similar fashion, Elordi's relationship with Kaia Gerber came so swiftly after his split from Zendaya that fans speculated there was some overlap.

In his defense, Zendaya insists that she and Elordi were only ever friends. She has a pattern too, though, as the singer/actress also called her current beau Tom Holland her "best friend" - let's just say that myth's been debunked.

Lana Condor and Anthony de la Torre

When To All the Boys I Loved Before was released, viewers fell in love with the obvious chemistry between stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo. The pair was so popular, in fact, that fans were devastated to learn they weren't a couple in real life.

Given that Centineo was single at the time, he wasn't blamed for his lack of romance with Condor - that honor fell to the actress's real-life boyfriend, Anthony de la Torre, who swiftly became public enemy number one.
